Friday Favorites #2
All the things I’ve been loving recently. Five of current my favorite things from food, fitness, family and just life!
I’m frequently asked about the products I use, the brands of foods I eat, my favorite workout equipment, or what I like to make for breakfast. So I’ve decided to create a Friday Favorites series to share my favorites. I’ll take a look back at the things I’ve loved… new finds, favorite meals, go-to items, favorite workouts, or anything that just made me smile.

Hi friends! We’ve had a busy few weeks around here… finishing filling our lake house with furniture (and the headache of arranging deliveries), working a lot, and all the back-to-school shopping.
Luckily, we’ve had plenty of time for fun too! Boat rides, pool days with friends, a date night with George, and a workout date with a friend.
And this weekend is jam-packed with even more fun! Play dates, pool parties, and two birthday parties. All fun stuff but very busy! I think I’ll need a luxurious pedicure at the Woodhouse (or try out the new Milk + Honey Spa) to relax and prepare my toes for vacation in a couple of weeks!
Anyway, here’s a recap of my five favorite things these last two weeks. I hope you love them too!

I’ve been obsessed with these protein pancakes for a long time. They have 19 grams of protein and 22 grams of healthy complex carbs in 4 pancakes. They also happen to be dairy-free and gluten-free (if you use certified gluten-free oats). It’s so satisfying to eat a stack of pancakes. But I just recently started making this almond butter syrup and I can’t get enough!

I can’t even call this a lunch bag because it’s more of a meal bag. I got sick of trying to jam all of my meals and snacks for a work day into my tiny (well, really standard sized) lunch box and dug out this 6 Pack Fitness meal prep bag I got for Christmas back when I was on prep for a bikini competition.
It’s soft-sided but it has enough structure to stand up on its own and avoid getting crushed in a community refrigerator at work. And if you don’t have access to a refrigerator, it also comes with 2 freezer packs to keep your meals cold all day long.
It seriously holds everything I could want with multiple compartments to keep everything organized:
- Top compartment for easy access to snacks, vitamins, or supplements
- Front compartment with 3 stacked containers for meals
- Two side zippered pockets for water or shaker bottles
- Mesh side pockets.
And it has a convenient adjustable shoulder strap and handles for easy transport.
I picked up the cute little reversible “Let’s Go Out/Let’s Stay In” sign at Target last week and I absolutely love it!
It’s high-quality piece from Chip and Joanna Gaines’s collection for Target that adds instant charm to our entryway table. Plus it’s just fun to switch it up as our mood changes.
And the best part is that it’s only $15!
Each time I’ve visited a country without Target, I seriously wonder how they live! I mean, where else can you go to buy groceries, pick up a cute (and affordable) outfit, get some amazing $1 finds, and decorate your home?!
This has been my favorite swimsuit of the summer and it’s less than $30 on Amazon!
The shirring on the back of the bottoms creates a little cheekiness. Just enough to be flattering but still mom-appropriate.
I love the tie front detail so I can tighten it to fit and hold the girls in without anything spilling out. The ribbed texture and solid blue color make this suit feel timeless and the quality is way higher than I ever expected.
On Monday, when I just needed 15 minutes of time to get the kitchen cleaned up after dinner and pack lunches, the Beach Bum Let Them Be Little sensory box gave me 30 minutes!
The kids had so much fun playing with this sensory box… scooping, pouring, making shapes in the sand, and even sharing and cooperating with each other! Not only does it have scoops, shells, and letters (perfect for my 5-year-old!), the sand is scented! They LOVED it!
Audrey, a local Fort Worth mama, launched this company earlier this year as a convenient way to share the benefits of sensory play with more families. After using sensory play with her own daughter as a therapeutic tool to aid in recovery after emergency brain surgery, Audrey and her daughter experienced the benefits first hand.
Let Them Be Little Box designs themed sensory boxes every month delivered right to your door. These sensory boxes help develop skills through texture, movement, and imagination. Check out Let Them Be Little Box on Instagram!
So now busy moms everywhere can offer sensory play to their littles (without the time-consuming tasks of researching safe and beneficial products, shopping, or assembly). Absolutely perfect for busy moms (and a great way to support to a mom-owned small business)!
